This Week's "CAUGHT in the ACT"
Jazz band I trombone section

This Week's "Caught in the Act" is really two groups:

1.  All of the student volunteers who worked on our Band Clean Up Day!  I wish I could name everyone, but I don't want to accidentally leave someone out.  Nobody really likes to clean & organize, but it is a necessity.  You all made things so much better for the program.  Thank you so very much!

2.  Jazz Band I's Trombone Section!  Terry, Landon, Nathan, Jacob & Brian asked if they could come in this week to have a sectional rehearsal.  I loved that they did this on their own and really worked hard on their feature piece for our upcoming Jazz Cabaret.  You won't want to miss hearing them on the Tom Kubis composition, Trombonasaurus Wrecks!  Great job guys!

Drumline at OC Book Fair

This Week's "Caught in the Act" was difficult as there were so many great students doing great things.  I once again chose our Drumline members - Sean, Markie, David, Caitlyn, Evan, Skyler & Brendan.  Even though many of us were very tired after the long day with UCLA at the Rose Bowl,  these dedicated students represented MESA by being a part of the Orange County Book Fair at OCC on Sunday.  They devoted 4 hours towards their community by playing and drawing attention towards a part of the Book Fair that the organizers wanted people to check out.  The Book Fair was a great event and the drumline got lots of compliments on how positively they performed to their audience  I even had two CMHS alums with their own kids come and give me "woohoos" on the group.  Thank you so much for representing our program so well!
